The Syrock Highlands is a broad and rolling mountain range which forms the western wall of the Shadowvale. Its peaks are rounded and bare with little tree or shrub growth. The prevailing weather patterns cause frequent storms across range. The summer months see frequent thunderstorms and many lightning strikes. Some summer evenings the Syrock range puts on a spectacular light display with echoing peals of thunder that fill the vale. The winter deposits great quantities of snow which melt off to form the spring rush of water.
