Trade Road of Shadowvale
The trade road of Shadowvale is a dangerous path that roughly follows The River Volstock north to Hammer Hill. It begins about half way between Yolsk and Hammer Hill at a point where the river is too difficult to travel north any further. There is a landing site called Crawford’s point capable of sheltering several moderately-large boats for unloading. The road itself is narrow and very rugged. but it is capable of supporting small wagons. Most of the trade caravans use purchased mules to carry loads or to pull carts with goods.
The road is difficult to maintain in the wilderness and is frequently washed out or blocked by fallen trees. Some effort is expended to keep it clear. But the wilderness has become more dangerous in recent years and fewer maintenance crews have been sent out.
